What company voluntary arrangement means
A company voluntary arrangement (CVA) is a creditor-approved deal that lets an insolvent company keep trading while it repays an agreed proportion of its debts over time, supervised by a licensed insolvency practitioner. It needs the support of creditors holding at least 75% of the debt that votes.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I check whether a construction company or builder is in a CVA?
- Search the company name or number from the home page; its page shows every recorded procedure with dates and the practitioner. Our guide on checking if a company is insolvent covers the official sources too.
- Who is appointed when a construction company or builder enters a company voluntary arrangement?
- A licensed insolvency practitioner acts as nominee and then supervisor of the arrangement, overseeing the repayments the creditors approved.
- Can I see construction companies in other procedures?
- Yes — the Construction overview lists every procedure together, and the chips above switch between liquidations, administrations and CVAs.
