A free, independent register of UK company liquidations, administrations and CVAs, built from the official public record.

What Insolvency List is
Insolvency List is an independent, free register of UK companies that have entered a formal insolvency procedure — liquidation, administration or a company voluntary arrangement (CVA). It brings notices that are published across The Gazette and Companies House into one searchable place, so anyone checking a customer, supplier, landlord or employer can see what has happened to a company, when, and who was appointed.
The site is not affiliated with Companies House, The Gazette, the Insolvency Service or any insolvency practitioner, and it does not sell insolvency services.
Who it is for
- Creditors and suppliers checking whether a customer has gone into liquidation or administration, and who to contact to submit a claim.
- Employees who want to understand what their employer's procedure means.
- Directors, accountants and analysts following distress in an industry or region.
- Journalists and researchers looking for a timely, filterable view of UK corporate insolvency.
How it works
- Updates. New notices are collected every hour during UK business hours (Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00) and usually appear within about an hour of publication.
- Industry. Each company is placed in an industry from the first two digits of its SIC 2007 code (for example 41–43 → construction, 55–56 → hospitality).
- Region. Each company is placed in one of the twelve UK statistical regions from the postcode of its registered office — which can be an accountant's address rather than where the business traded.
- Dates. The date shown is when the procedure took effect, not when we collected it.
- Statistics. Weekly and daily counts are computed from every indexed notice, not a sample.
Limitations
- Winding-up petitions (the step before a winding-up order) are not yet tracked.
- Historical coverage reaches back to mid-2024 and is still being completed, so some older procedures may be missing.
- A procedure ending (for example a company leaving administration) is not always reflected immediately — always confirm the current status on the official record.
- Nothing on this site is legal or financial advice. If you are affected by an insolvency, speak to a licensed insolvency practitioner or a solicitor.
Corrections
We reproduce the official record and do not edit it. If a company is shown in the wrong industry or region, a link is broken, or something looks wrong, email contact@insolvencylist.co.uk with the company number and we will check it against the source and correct any error in our processing. Requests about personal data are handled under our privacy policy.
