Who we are
This website, insolvencylist.co.uk, is operated by Insolvency List ("we", "us"). We are the controller of the personal data described below. Contact: contact@insolvencylist.co.uk.
Data about visitors
Analytics. With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used — pages viewed, approximate location (country/city), device and browser, and how you arrived. Google Analytics sets cookies only after you accept them in the cookie banner; until then it runs in a cookieless mode that sends no identifiers. Lawful basis: consent. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings in the footer.
Advertising. We may show advertising served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this and other sites. Advertising cookies are used only with your consent; you can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Server logs. Our hosting provider (Google Cloud / Firebase App Hosting) records technical request data — IP address, user agent, page requested and time — to deliver and secure the site. Lawful basis: legitimate interests in operating a secure service. Logs are kept for up to 30 days.
Email. If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply and to keep a record of the request, for up to two years. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
We do not sell personal data and we do not require you to create an account.
Data from public registers
Company pages show information published on the official public record by Companies House and The Gazette, which may include the names, roles and appointment dates of company directors and officers, and the names and business addresses of appointed insolvency practitioners.
- Source: Companies House and The Gazette, under the Open Government Licence.
- Purpose: making the public record of UK corporate insolvency easier to search, so creditors, employees and the public can see what has happened to a company.
- Lawful basis: legitimate interests — the transparency the statutory registers exist to provide. We show only what is already public, and we do not publish home addresses, dates of birth or contact details of individuals.
- Retention: for as long as the company's insolvency remains on the public record we index. Directors' details are refreshed from Companies House regularly.
If you are named on a page and want something corrected or object to its display, email contact@insolvencylist.co.uk. We will compare it with the official record and act on your request where the law allows.
Who processes data for us
- Google (Firebase, Google Cloud, Google Analytics, Google AdSense) — hosting, analytics and advertising.
- OpenStreetMap and postcodes.io — the registered-office map on company pages is loaded from these services, which receive your IP address when the map loads.
Some of these providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Such transfers rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK–US data bridge.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for access to, correction or erasure of your personal data, object to or restrict its processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Email contact@insolvencylist.co.uk; we respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
